My "target group" in mind is for upper middle grades, high school, and young adult. What does this translate to? 8th grade and up. I am giving it a personal recommendation of ages 12 . However, parents should be the ultimate judge. Because of this, I am attaching everything that is in the book that some parents may find questionable. Just Click Here for a full list!
But just because I wrote it for 12 does not mean adults won't enjoy it. I highly suggest a read, even if I am biased.
I realize, people in novels die. But, I don't take requests for death.
I'm a writer, not a literary hit-man.
Wouldn't you like to know?
I guess that's why you asked though. I can't tell you outright. Just know that I am always working on something. Snag a subscription to the social media pages to keep updated.
Now that's a question that I can answer!
When I was in 7th grade, I wrote a book called 'Percy the Penguin: The Case of the Missing Fish!'
From there, I wrote an entire series. I have about 20 Percy the Penguin books in an old notebook in my parent's closet. Maybe, if I find the right illustrator who can bring them to life, we will publish those as well.
Granted, this question is normally asked by my students, but here's the same answer:
I am only Facebook friends with my family members and co-workers. I like to keep my Facebook under 100 people and private. However, I do have plenty of social media pages devoted to me as an author. My personal pages will remain my personal pages.

Life.
Really and truly, that is the answer. When I was in high school, I didn't understand the concept of novel writing. I wrote in thoughts: short bursts of ideas.
This type of writing is great for poetry, short stories, children's books, and even chapter books. However, novel writing takes a bit more refinement. I did not have that.
Over time, that developed. I noticed that my chapters that I wrote as a junior were far better than my chapters I wrote as a freshman. Then, senior year, my laptop crashed (as in a physical crash of destruction).
That was the best thing for it. I took a break from writing my novel and refined my skills. I then took my previous ideas and restarted the project. When I was about halfway done, college started. Then marriage followed by student teaching.
It wasn't until after I was settled into a wonderful teaching job that I was able to finally sit down and begin the journey with Cedric and Ross again.
But don't worry. It will not take that long to write the sequel. Now that I am settled into a wonderful job that I have some free time to relax and write, stories are flowing.
